Grief Support Services

Wuesthoff Hospice & Palliative Care offers a variety of grief support services to our Hospice families:

Visits by Grief Support Specialists

Our grief support staff visit our Hospice families soon after the death of their loved one. The purpose of these visits is to offer understanding and support to the family as they work through their grief.

Grief Support Volunteers

Volunteers are available to our Hospice families for visits and telephone support.

Memorial Services

Family members and friends are invited to join our staff at a nondenominational memorial service which is held to honor our patients who have died.

Grief Support News

A biannual newsletter announces events and support groups for survivors.

Grief Support Groups

When someone we love dies, we expect to grieve. Sometimes, however, the pain is much worse than anticipated and we feel alone and lost as friends and family move on with their lives. Being with others who are experiencing the same feelings can be helpful. Sharing memories and receiving support help the healing to begin. If you are grieving the loss of a loved one, you are invited to attend our grief support meetings that are held throughout Brevard County. All meetings are open to the community. Please call (321) 253-2222, ext. 4729, for locations, dates and times.
  • Safe Place is an open, ongoing grief support group for adults conducted by grief professionals. Meetings are held in Rockledge, West Melbourne and Palm Bay.
  • JUGGS (Just Us Guys and Gals) is a social group for widows and widowers that meets for lunch or dinner every month in the north, central and south areas of Brevard County.

    Homer & Friends

Homer & Friends is an award-winning puppet show designed to help young children learn how to cope with death. The puppet show is available to churches, schools and children's groups.

    Camp Hope

Camp Hope is an overnight bereavement camp for children ages 6 to 12. Normal camp activities accompany grief exercises, self-esteem lessons, art and music activities as well as a memorial service to remember those who have died. The camp is held each spring.
